    FAMOUS BOLLYWOOD ACTRESS AISHWARYA RAI

Vogue India in celebration with the
    magazine's fifth anniversary
    reports on project renaissance.
A special article on celebrating the
synergy between India and the west.
It is not only the beauty of actress
    and supermodel Aishwarya Rai that
turns heads at Cannes in Paris but
also the magic of the country's
    artisanal crafts and textiles.
The west has discovered this as well
as the likes of international fashion
    houses Burberry,Alberta Ferretti
and DKNY as well as the iconic
    designer Christian Louboutin who
proudly proclaims his love for India
    and the countries embroiders.

      International fashion house DKNY
      uses Bishnupur Bucuhari silk in
their new collection as well as
      the amazing colourful shoe house
      Salvatore Ferragamo who uses
      Benerasi Brocade.

     Burberry followed suit by using
     the amazing Maheswari silk
     and Alberta Ferretti used
     Kanchipuram silk whilst Tods
added silk to their bag collection
     New York alone have hundreds
     of Indian textile designers working
     very closely with international
     fashion designers.
We need to cultivate and promote
'Made In India' as much as we
     promote the 'Made In Italy'
brand as it is no secret that many
of the top designers use Indian
craftmanship as it is all about the
     brocades from Benares and
     temple-bordered Kanchipurum
silks from Tamil Nadu and silks
from Kashmir so perfect for a
     Paris Haute Couture collection!
